Narconon Arrowhead is a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility situated on the hills overlooking the beautiful Lake Eufaula in southern Oklahoma. Since it opened in 2001, Narconon Arrowhead has grown into one of the largest and most successful rehabilitation facilities in Oklahoma. With room for over two hundred individuals at any one time, Narconon Arrowhead boasts a stunning, rustic main lodge. Nearby cabins provide staff housing to ensure that staff are close at hand as needed. The surrounding hills are home to deer, turkey, foxes and much more. The location and setting of Narconon Arrowhead allows individuals to relax and recover in a peaceful, serene environment.
Individuals travel from all over the country and even other countries to participate in the residential rehabilitation treatment program at Narconon Arrowhead. The staff is made up of professional, well-trained, caring and experienced individuals, many of whom have experienced the Narconon rehabilitation program firsthand and can relate to what the program participants are going through and provide valuable support and encouragement.
The Narconon Arrowhead Program
The Narconon drug and alcohol rehabilitation program is one of the most successful in the world, with over forty-six years of experience in over one hundred thirty facilities worldwide. The program itself is a holistic rehabilitation program that was developed in 1966 by a heroin addicted prison inmate named William Benitez. After reading a book by American author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard, Benitez felt like he could better understand himself and what he needed to do in order to resolve his addiction. He corresponded with Mr. Hubbard as he developed the first Narconon program in his prison, helping himself and other inmates finally conquer their drug addictions.
The Narconon program has a proven success rate of 75% of program graduates not only moving forward into a drug-free life, but often experiencing improved relationships with family and friends and an improved ability to lead a productive life and set and reach their goals.
Narconon program participants are first aided through drug withdrawals with good nutrition, vitamin supplements, physical assists and individual support. While drug withdrawals are often very uncomfortable, the Narconon withdrawal program can make it less agonizing and more tolerable for the individual.
Following their drug withdrawal, the program participant moves on to a sauna detoxification program that is designed to flush all residual drug toxins from the body tissues. It is often these stored toxins that can affect an individual’s mood and behavior and cause them to crave more drugs. Most individuals experience a reduction or elimination in physical drug cravings after completing their sauna detoxification.
While the individual’s body is usually largely rehabilitated after the completion of the sauna detoxification portion of the program, it is important to also address the individual himself. Individuals who experienced drug addiction often have little or no integrity or self-confidence, and without restoring these key qualities they may return to old and dangerous habits and routines in life. Narconon program participants learn how to study for understanding, and how to take responsibility for their choices in life. They learn the reason that they turned to drug abuse in the first place, and how to prevent themselves from making that damaging choice again in the future.
Narconon also helps individuals become aware of their present environment, and able to spot dangerous personalities or actions so that they can avoid them. A Narconon program graduate is able to confidently return to life, rebuild relationships with those around them that had been damaged by their drug use, and carry on with the life that they have always wanted but once seemed uncertain of attaining. Many graduates are surprised at how happy, relieved and positive they feel about their life and their future following their program graduation.
